Soft start up and soft slow down

0-100% of initial voltage can be set while designing the Soft start up circuit. The starts up and slow down ramps are time controlled and are available in wide ranged. E.g. a minute long run-up of centrifuge can be programmed; likewise a kick start with adjustable initial torque and respective tearing time can be set. The device can realize 2-phase start up circuits and can also be employed for energy generation like BHKWs and Biogas devices.

Even this new digital series is available up to 75 kW with integrated bypass contactors, which has been practised at Horstmann Antriebstechnik since more than 20 years. Application of Bypass-Contactor avoids the complicated and accident sensitive fan cooling. Apart from this additional heating of switch cabinets is also avoided. The device always starts in optimal status (cold) of the semi conductor.


Soft start up and DC breaking

In this version  a further power semi conductor takes care of breaking during the Motor switch off. This breaking effect is quicker and much more direct than the traditional electronic DC Brakes, as the normal dead times in case of DC Brakes like the one for the reduction of remanence voltage in the motor are omitted. No brake contactor is required. Application of these devices leads to an interesting comparative analysis. If in the classical construction one needs a star delta circuit with additional DC Brake and a brake contactor and if one considers entire complexities of cabling to it, then the Soft starter with brake can be compared in terms of price, since the space would be saved to great extent.


Soft Start up and reversing Circuit

In this kind of design the soft start up can be converted with all its advantages to a Soft start up circuit in both the rotational directions. Up to certain performance class the Bypass-Contactors for both the rotational directions are integrated.


There is a possibility to switch over the Jog-RPM to left and right very quickly. This is true for example during positioning. Hereby the dependency to load is to be taken into consideration. No reversing circuits are required for switch over. The reversing circuits take place using an integrated semi conductor.


Soft start up, DC Breaking and Reversing circuits

soft acceleration in both the directions and electronic breaking is possible with fully configured DSH. In case of such applications or use cases DSH allows you to save a lot on money and space in your switch cabinet. For example for an installation for a star delta circuit with electronic DC Brake and required brake contactors  and reversing circuits the space requirement needed shrinks up to 250 mm for 130 cm switch cabinet bar. One can save great amount of space and time for cabling and in addition a series of components, which undergo wear and tear. The device also restricts the power-up currents, which also results in saving during the operations, as otherwise the current arising due to the switching would load the energy balance to great extent.


Electronic Contactor

The electronic contactors with higher performance classes can be built using this device the additional advantage (Which normally is missing with electronic contactors) thereby is that the switching on and off of the motor or the load can be designed much softer.


A.C. Power Controller


This design of a device allows setting a random voltage between 0-100% at the output. This characteristic can be used for ohmic loads and within certain scope for rotational torque or also for RPM setting.

The further development of the software also complement further functions like safety functions for the motor and motor management settings. There is also a further possibility to customize or to change the software in certain areas as per the customer specifications.


Kick start

The kick time and the kick voltage can be changed. The kick start basically sets at the start of the start up ramp after activation. Application: in case of machines with higher starting torque and the static friction.
